Tenuta Perano

The Tenuta Perano territory - In the heart of Chianti Classico

The Perano estate is located in the heart of Chianti Classico in Gaiole and enjoys exceptional climate and soil. The vineyards are located 500 meters above sea level, well above the altitude common for red variety grapes, especially Sangiovese with its late maturation phase.

Tenuta Perano is an immaculate estate located in Gaiole, and is the latest addition to the collection of estates owned by the Frescobaldi family. The estate covers 250 hectares, of which 52 are planted with vines which surround the dedicated winery. The vineyard is planted on steep slopes increasing to an altitude of 500 metres and is situated on a natural amphitheatre profile, which captures and amplifies the sunlight onto the vines. This unique setting combines elevation, exposure and a natural topography to produce wines with intensely fruit driven aromas and a great tannic structure, which are enveloped in elegance.

Tenuta Perano is a unique estate at an altitude of 500 metres, nestled in the heart of Chianti Classico. A natural amphitheatre, with southwest exposure, ideal for capturing heat and light. Steep slopes and stony soils characterise this particular landscape, creating healthy air movement and ideal terroir for Sangiovese. The climate provides warm, dry summers with marked temperature differences in September, which helps to extend the ripening period and concentrate the fruit flavours, while retaining balancing acidity. The soil is notable for its rich stone content and is free draining. A magical land that expresses an elegant vibration and an intense note of fruit through its fine wines.
