Klein Constantia Estate Chardonnay 2017
Lovely rich golden colour. The nose carries dried apple and citrus underscored by marzipan and vanilla. Dry and fruity with soft biscuit and butterscotch flavours from ageing in wood barrels. Rich and creamy texture on the palate with a backbone of acidity. Full-bodied and complex, the wine ends in a crisp and lingering finish.
Constantia’s unique terroir and cool climate consistently provide concentrated grapes full of flavour with a distinct freshness. As a result, Klein Constantia is able to produce a crisp Chardonnay with an enticing complexity. The grapes for Klein Constantia Chardonnays come from a single vineyard site and were matured in French oak for nine months.
Enjoy now or leave for a further 7 years to develop in the bottle.

There’s a Smarties candy edge to the nose of this wine, like white flowers and white fruit mixed with a touch of chalk. The palate is light and easy, with a slight bitter-melon edge that lends a soft texture throughout the close, while medium acidity keeps the palate refreshed.
