Few places on earth offer as optimal conditions for viticulture as Chile. Many of Chile’s most important wine regions are located in the Central Valley, and this is where the grapes for Winemaker’s Lot are grown. The valley is protected by the Andes mountain range in the east while cool winds sweep in from the Pacific Ocean in the west. As the world’s longest country, Chile offers strong contrasts in the form of the Atacama Desert in the north and the mighty glaciers in the south. These four natural barriers insulate and protect the land, and contribute to large variations in soil and climate.
