Chateau St Thomas Obeidy St Thomas 2019
Chateau St Thomas Obeidy St Thomas is made from 100% Obaideh, an indigenous white grape of Lebanon. A refined and good mood wine, so fresh and the best of its kind! Because of the weather, the winery consumes this like water…we like that train of thought.
Clear light yellow with green reflections. Grapefruit and lime citrus nose with hints of earthy minerals, elderflower florals and sweet spices. The light-bodied plate is super fresh and crisp. Pleasant lime citrus, white peach and apricot flavours with a hint of earth and herbs. This wine is a perfect reflection of its Lebanese terroir and the character of this indigenous grape.
100% Obaideh. From vineyards on a hill overlooking the Bekaa valley with an altitude of over 1000 metres, spreading over 65 hectares on the eastern exposure of Mount Lebanon. The Meditteranean climate is ideal for grape growing and the soils are a superficial, well-draining mixture of limestone and pebbly clay.
After manual harvesting of the grapes, they are brought to the Chateau St Thomas cellar (dug 25m to 30m deep into the rocks) for fermentation and ageing. Controlled fermentation and fining with low temperatures in stainless steel tanks for 6 months. No malolactic fermentation.
