Casanova della Spinetta IL Nero di Casanova Toscana Sangiovese IGT 2016
This bottle of Toscana Sangiovese is full-bodied, balanced and shows a garnet, slightly brownish color with some violet reflexes. On the nose, exhibiting quite powerful, unique complex fragrances of plum and sour cherry and dried fruit aspects. Faint aromas of roasted aromas of toast bread, licorice, pepper and vanilla. The structure is harmonious, round and fairly soft. Some grassy as well as roasted and spicy notes and a medium-sized finish. We love how it gives off a robust rustic mouthfeel, definitely one for the books!
Harvest at Casanova della Spinetta happens in the middle of September. Alcoholic fermentation for 9-10 days in temperature controlled tanks, malolactic fermentation in oak 9 months in medium toast, French oak barrels.
