Berliner Pilsner has been a stalwart of Berlin culture since its introduction to the German Democratic republic in 1963. Besides the raw ingredients of water, barley malt, hops and yeast, it takes craftsmanship, great experience, passion and a certain flair to brew a good beer.
A clear golden pour with a generous white head. Roasted malts, hay and grassy field aromas. Light-bodied, crisp carbonation, cleansing mouthfeel and a moderate bitterness. Fine malt and biscuit base taste with subtle caramel layers and a crisp clean finish. Dry, tangy and without frills.
Fun Fact: The bear on the label is the notorious Berlin Bear, a reference to the Berlin coat of arms. A unique mascot and symbol of the capital that appears across Berlin in the form of ‘Berlin Buddy Bears’.
