Olivier Leflaive

Olivier Leflaive co-ran Domaine Leflaive with his uncle, the legendary Vincent Leflaive, from 1982–1990. He then ran the Domaine Leflaive estate alongside his cousin Anne-Claude Leflaive until 1994, when he left to set up his own négociant business. Armed with the expertise he'd acquired at his family estate, fine Burgundy running in his blood, and the help of sensational winemakers like Jean-Marc Boillot (grandson of Etienne Sauzet) and Franck Grux (previously at Domaine Roulot), Olivier Leflaive’s enterprise was assured stardom.

The company owns 12 hectares of land covering some of the most prestigious Bourgogne appellations, including Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault, and Chassagne-Montrachet. They also work with around 100 trusted growers, operating a unique approach of buying grapes while still on the vine rather than wine in barrels. Olivier Leflaive's success as a négociant lies in the fact that all wines bearing the name are completely vinified, matured and bottled in house by Olivier Leflaive.Their methods show off the true négociant art of blending several elements to create a final blend that is greater than the sum of its parts.

Olivier Leflaive's philosophy is to produce simply great wines. To do this, everything starts with vines that produce top quality grapes. Olivier Leflaive Frères work on their vines with sustainable approaches, supporting their partner winegrowers in cultivating their plots using organic or biodynamic approaches. However, they do not have any organic certification since they don't hesitate to use chemical treatment if it's really necessary.
