Bodegas Volver

Bodegas Volver creates wines in other wine-making regions of Spain such as Alicante, La Mancha, Jumilla, Rueda, Valencia and soon Rías Baixas. The stamp which differentiates Bodegas Volver is its modern approach to its work with indigenous varieties such as Monastrell, Tempranillo, Merseguera, Macabeo, Moscatel etc.

The three fundamental pillars of Bodegas Volver are based on:

Culture - Connoisseurs in the world of wine and experts in the vineyards
Tradition - The way of making wines that has been passed down and maintained through the generations.
Passion - The fundamental ingredient for creating a wine with a very personal stamp.

The pillars of the bodega are based on the repositioning of quality Spanish wines and recovering old indigenous vineyards which, either through low production or lack of generational succession, had been lost.

The project of Bodegas Volver was founded in 2004 by Rafael Cañizares, an enologist through studies and viticulturist through his family tradition of four generations bound to the vine and wine. The pillars of the bodega are based on the repositioning of quality Spanish wines and recovering old indigenous vineyards which, either through low production or lack of generational succession, had been lost. Their most prized asset is th heritage of vines between 30 and 90 years old, indigenous varieties cultivated in a sustainable way with minimal intervention. They create wines under different denominations of origin; La Mancha, Alicante, Jumilla and Rueda. Each award and mention of recognition brings satisfaction to their work but what makes them most proud is passing it on to the next generation. Today, Sofia Cañizares, Daughter of Rafael, is preparing to take the generational baton. She is being trained and has very clear ideas, which began with her father, and has already created her own wine under the supervision of her father and mentor.
