Amelia Park

At Amelia Park, they believe fine wines come from a rich blend of time-honoured methods and modern technique. Winemaking is their passion. Each wine is hand-crafted and captures the essence of the fruit. Quality is at the heart of everything they do. Focusing on the essential, and keep only the exceptional. At Amelia Park Wines, they produce fine wines from one of Western Australia's most renowned winemaking regions, Margaret River. Combine leading edge techniques with traditional winemaking values and practices. Winemaker Jeremy Gordon believes that success starts with the vine, and he works closely with a select group of premium vineyards to achieve superior and consistent fruit quality. The resulting wines are elegant, fruit-driven varietals, complex in structure yet easily and irresistibly enjoyable.

Jeremy Gordon is a partner and our highly decorated winemaker whose success lies in a hands-on approach to every step of the process, attention to detail and an unquenchable passion for making consistently outstanding wines. This philosophy has seen Jeremy receive numerous awards throughout his career including Australia's most coveted award, the Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy. Since launching Amelia Park in 2009, with his wife Daniela and business partner Peter Walsh, Jeremy has won multiple trophies at high caliber wine shows including the International Wine Competition, Decanter World Wine Awards, Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition, National Wine Show of Australia, Margaret River Wine Show, Perth Royal Wine Show and the Winewise Championships. Amelia Park was again awarded 5 Red Stars in the latest edition of James Halliday's Wine Companion. This award confirms Amelia Park on the list of the Best Wineries in the Margaret River Region and in the top 5% of wineries in Australia. In November 2014 we were named Margaret River Winery of the Year at the Melbourne International Wine Competition and Jeremy was named a finalist for International Red Winemaker of the Year 2015 at the International Wine Challenge.

Bordered by ocean on three sides, Margaret River nestles in the south-west spur of Western Australia. Not only a region of flawless natural beauty, it is also a place blessed with ideal soil and weather conditions for winemaking. Both the warm, maritime climate and the gently rolling topography are perfect for viticulture, and since the 1970s Margaret River has become known for producing high quality Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux varietals. The region is also renowned for its superior whites such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. Margaret River wines are characterised by their depth of colour and intense, full-bodied palate. This distinctiveness comes from the region's soils, which range from gravelly loams to more sandy and highly-flavoured loams. Most of the vineyards are on the slopes of the Leeuwin-Naturaliste Ridge, where roots can go deep into the ground, allowing the grape vines to survive the dry Mediterranean summers. The resulting grapes are infused with potency and flavour.

No other wine producing area in Australia is so highly influenced by its closeness to the coast, and this unique geographical asset ensures that wines from the Margaret River area are both highly prized and highly individual. It is no wonder that some of the world's finest wine practitioners have been drawn to this region: seduced by its potential as much as by its beauty.
